Algae PBR Spray Cleaning Cycle

How does the algae reactor cleaning cycle work?

Today we take a look at the Industrial Plankton algae PBR spray cleaning cycle.

Many of us who have cultured algae before are not the biggest fans for scrubbing tanks. Raise your hand if you agree! We show you how simple it is with this automated algae tank cleaning system.

You may want to run the cleaning cycle between cultures after a few months if you are harvesting continuously, or between batches if you are running in batch mode.

Note, please take proper safety precautions while working with cleaning agents.

Remove the tri-clamp fitting from the top of the algae reactor. Add your cleaning agents, and put the tri-clamp back in place. Please consult the Industrial Plankton product support team to discuss the correct portion of cleaner and water to add to your algae system for the cleaning cycle.

Go to the touch-screen-controls to start the cleaning with the press of a button. No scrubbing necessary! Now to think of what you can do with all of your extra time  🙂

All components that are not cleaned during the algae PBR cleaning cycle by the automated CIP system can be removed at their biosecure points on the reactor for to be put into an autoclave.
